Faszination Modellbahn in Mannheim, Germany

by

Gauge 1 will only be represented by Märklin and layouts. After all, the Maimarkthalle in Mannheim will be the first opportunity for the public to see a sample of the V 320 in Wiebe printing. The 241-A-65 will also be on display.

Two gauge 1 systems can be seen in operation. The Ingolstadt Central Station of the Eisenbahn- und Modellbahnfreunde Ingolstadt e.V. is an oval layout with a large station, turntable, engine shed and village on a hill. The modular layout measures 16.5 m x 5.2 m and has already been shown once at Faszination Modellbahn 2014 in Sinsheim. My snapshots were taken there as well.

The second layout comes from MEC Idstein and has the motif of an American small town in the 1950s and measures 12 m x 4 m. There, point-to-point traffic is handled with vehicles in the scales 1:29 to 1:32.

In other scales, numerous club and private facilities are shown, which are distinguished by their choice of themes. The West Side Lumber Logging Railway is well worth seeing, with lovingly designed modules on a scale of 1:20.3. The Sidi Fontana 1:45 narrow-gauge railway from Morocco, built by the Frenchman Franck Combe, is also unique.
