What is the sum of 8 and 6?

SNCF 160A1 as Gauge 1 Model from Proform

by

The 7.2 kg model is made to order by Proform and has a six-cylinder drive for this experimental locomotive, working on the second and fourth axles.

The model has the highly complicated 6 cylinder compound drive of the prototype, which was not easy to realize. The control system of the SNCF locomotive designed by André Chapelon, which has remained a one-off, differs significantly from the Heusinger/Walschaerts control system and makes the gauge 1 model particularly appealing. The drive actuates the second, third and fourth axes.

Markus Probst manufactures it to order for 19,000 Swiss francs. The steam locomotive model has the company's own powerful steam generator including cylinder steam, and despite the six coupled axles, it runs through a radius of 2 meters. The entire locomotive is equipped with compensating levers and leaf springs and is also suitable for operation on garden railroads.

Probst says it is "the most fascinating engine I have ever built."
